It seems everyone--fans and non-fans alike--has been talking about the essay Rolling Stone published by Laurie Anderson about her relationship with Lou Reed. And for good reason. It is a truly tender, sweet, and sensitive reflection on a life well spent without regrets and in love with your best friend. What you probably should not do, which I of course did, is first put on Perfect Day and then start to read it. But if you do decide to follow in my footsteps you will, like me, cry softly to yourself (possibly in a public place) while feeling sad and yet in an envelope of real, true love.
